I know I have practically vowed to stay away from Xbox for the moment, but it is still nice to reminiscence about the many hours of enjoyment certain games like Halo have provided over the years. Since Halo 3, the franchise has felt…burned out. At least on the online side of things. Everything felt like a clone of 3 as they attempted to squeeze its success for everything they can. A little light inside shines in hope that Halo 5 will bring it back.
We will have to wait until later in 2015 to know for sure (when the game will be ready for launch). There are new Spartan abilities, better graphics and the obvious chance that this game will only be available on the Xbox One.
Since I still have a pile of games I haven’t even touched yet in my position, it’s best to assume that it is going to be awhile before I invest into the new system. I have also enjoyed my escape from the game world by filling it with friends, traveling, hiking and so much more. I guess I may just have to wait to see what you other games feel about the game before I dive in 🙂

People don’t realize that Halo is getting left behind. Halo has the curse
of being an incredible idea that was made just too soon before the tech was
made to support it. Spartans NEED to be able to climb, sprint, slide,
ground-pound, etc. because they’re 7ft tall super soldiers! Look at John,
he was raised since the time he was six in the Military by the best, he’s
in powered battle armor that was passed down through genesongs from the
Forerunners, and people think he shouldn’t be able break stride. Does
anyone else realize how stupid that is? Anybody? Look, because it doesn’t
take you ten days to cross the map, doesn’t mean it is Call of Duty. If
you actually played both, as I do, you would know that NO Halo game (yes,
even 4) feels like CoD. So many other games have sprint other than Call of
Duty, people now associate anything that is first-person that isn’t Halo
with CoD. Which is absolutely the most ignorant thing any “gamer” could
say. If Halo doesn’t change, then it will cease to exist. And what would
really help is if people ACTUALLY LISTENED. ADS is like the Battlerifle,
the sight changes magnification, which makes YOU aim better at longer
distances, but doesn’t make the actual bullet spread. So, if you are
better, you do better. Let’s look here, what did Bungie do? They gave us
some sights on some guns, Magnum and Sniper Rifle in Halo, BR and Cov.
Carbine and Sniper in Halo 2, Cov Carbine and BR, Sniper in Halo 3, and the
Needle Rifle, Magnum, DMR in Reach. 343 is doing the exact same thing with
Guardians, only the scope is applicable to all guns instead of a select
few. And look at it this way, its actually 343 (who has a crap load of
ex-Bungie staff) who is doing the work, if I am not mistaken, the majority
of Halo 4’s multiplayer was done by Certain Affinity. People just go and
input any game that has come out in the last few months, look at Halo and
point at Halo saying COOOOOOPY oh my gosh the game is ruined. People just
like to complain and this gives the hater the perfect opportunity.
But, Halo has been damaged ever since they got their hands on the series
and the Metacritics are dropping…. Not improving, it’s going to be
getting lower, I can bet on that. Using the “Smart scope”(aim down sight)
isn’t innovation or evolution to Halo it’s just copying CoD. Show us some
real innovation, none of this bullshit. We HALO FANS EXPECT BETTER SUCH AS
SPACE COMBAT, WHICH IS SOME REAL SHIT OR MORE VEHICLES NOT VEHICLE
IMPROVEMENTS DAMN IT, THAT’S INNOVATION!
You can send hate this or whatever, but must face the reality of what’s to
happen.
How the fuck is this anything like cod?? Seriously, there is no
killstreaks, no weapon drops, no armor abilities, no ads, time to kill is
same as other halo’s unlike cod, even starts, classic arena multiplayer and
map control, spartans moving the way they should be moving?? I don’t see
any resemblance to cod at all? Smart scope is just an animation, look at it
carefully the hipfire reticule is still the same, no movement penalty and
you can get descoped, no iron sights no red dot sight no attachments. Fuck
if anything advanced warfare copied halo reach and halo 4. People are
stupid and the halo community needs to get a grip!
Wow tbh I was very skeptical about this at first just like many of the
people on here, but then I watched more videos and understood what 343 is
trying to do. They are trying to keep Halo at its core but adding things
around it, sure there maybe new things we’ve never seen, but it’s still
Halo. One thing I’ve notice is that the people who bash at it have never
played the beta and are making conclusions from observations. Many people
who have played the beta have said that it’s just like Halo, and they are
all mostly old Halo fans. The point is, please don’t bash on a game you’ve
never played before. Make conclusions after you play the beta.
There is just one thing that I dislike about it..the ground pound. Not
because it’s “copied” from other games, but I think that it’s kinda useless
and it doesn’t really fit in. Imo I think that it’s not necessary.

Stop trying to make it accessible. Halo is not for everyone and the next
installments should not try to be for everyone. Your long-time loyal fans
are the ones you need to be listening to. Not CoD players, not BF players,
and not TPS (Third-Person) players. I can take keeping Sprint in, but take
out the fucking “Smart Scope”. It’s ADS and it has no place in Halo. It is
one of the few shooters that doesn’t use ADS so don’t try to shove it in
there.
I’ve always found it weird how the tone of the comments really doesn’t
match the like/dislike bar.
Probably because the whiners always have to be more vocal, because they
have to try that hard to get their way.
Looking forward to Halo 5! It looks great!

I like how 343 is really trying to do something new with the Halo series.
Sure some things aren’t perfect and maybe they need to tweak something but
they’re really trying to introduce the Halo community to a new step in the
series. I’ve been a fan since Halo: CE and really seeing them making
something like this really gets me excited, I mean the visuals are nice but
the game play looks like old Halo games but tweaked to fit modern day
shooters (Not saying that it’s like CoD please don’t think I’m comparing
the two) but still the feel of Halo is still there. And the abilities add
more competition to the game as well. So far I think that what they are
doing is pretty what they want to do and that is make a Halo game that we
can all like a lot. But the critics are really hammering away at Halo with
things like “It’s not the same!” or “How dare you turn halo into CoD!” When
they haven’t even played the beta because it isn’t out and you can’t just
judge the game by watching other people play it and say “Well since they
play it like that then it much be a CoD or whatever the hell kinda game you
can think of ripoff.” Seriously though. Give them a chance and they’re
doing their best.

I like the new Halo 5 Beta. My only problem is that I am matched against
MLG Pros or people way ahead of my skills. It is not fun getting wiped out
and not having a chance. I don’t even get a chance to learn and try the
game really. All my friends are having the same experience. We want to play
and enjoy the game but we don’t get a chance. I know it’s a beta. I just
hope the final product will match people according to skill. Right now my
KD ration is in the negative and that never happened until Halo 5 beta.
Therefore, I lost my excitement for the game.
Change or not, this IS NOT Halo. This has become more like Call of Duty
with shields, and if I wanted to play CoD, I have it on disc. This is going
beyond the true playstyle of Halo. New weapons, maps, armor abilities, and
slight adjustments to graphics? Yes, that is good. Changing the gameplay,
weapons, and everything else that keeps it from being Halo and more just
like EVERY OTHER FPS OUT THERE is HORRIBLY WRONG! I have been Playing Halo
since the second grade and have delved deep into it’s immersive universe
with it’s past games and books, and now it’s pretty much become like a
hybrid of “Spartans” that are more like Power Rangers than anything else
with the weapons mechanics of CoD, and that’s just not Halo, and I can’t
even play a real Halo game because those servers are pretty much abandoned!
I’m confined to this bullshit when it comes to Halo, and the ONLY WAY I can
get an authentic experience is by hosting a LAN party with my friends on
the first Halo for the computer, because hardly anybody has Halo 3 anymore
and I don’t feel like paying $400 for an Xbox One that isn’t even backwards
compatible JUST SO I CAN PLAY CLASSIC HALO GAMES THAT I ALREADY OWN!!! THIS

Dear 343i, all I want for halo 5 forge is that you can have lights and can
change the weather and day and night cycle.
Would you throw a bomb like on the dirt/grass the dirt gets your armor

is Reach, but after the utter failure of your still broken game Halo 4,
followed by the complete failure of MCC, how about you focus on releasing
an actual Halo game successfully instead of adding stupid crap that should

Take Halo: CE, 2 and 3, take the good things from those games and make a
new game. That is all you have to do.

i was super skeptical before the beta. There are bugs and things that need
worked on etc. But. I love it. Honestly. It is a very satisfying game
to play if you play with a full team especially.
I love halo and 343 has ruined it. Even in those rare moments I get over my
hate for 343 and get online it never works for more than a few games. Why
are you doing this? Please get rid of ordinance drop for guns, abilities,
custom load outs, and I would prefer not to have sprint. Although this will
never happen because 343 wants everyone to know they make halo now and not
bungi.

News flash: EVERY FUCKING FPS can be compared to CoD. CoD is simplistic as
fuck. Holy shit if you take any FPS I guarantee you can find elements in it
that can be compared to CoD. They’re FPS GAMES. Shit the only unique
Multiplayer FPS game I’ve seen in a while is probably the Counter-Strike

I like all of the Spartan abilities except the smart scope because it
doesn’t fit in with the lore of the UNSC weapons so please bring the
original zoom back instead of the ADS that’s from other FPS’s. Also please
put some lore being why the UNSC removed the armour abilities.
