I was browsing around the other day looking at pre-order options for upcoming movies and shows and ran across the special edition box set for the Walking Dead season two. I couldn’t help by laugh and have a slight urge to snag it even though I haven’t even seen the series yet (given, everyone I know who has seen it, has recommended it to). Obviously I didn’t buy it since I don’t even know what my own reviews for the series are yet but I def think they did a great job with being creative. Stuffing the blu-ray in a zombie head that has a screwdriver sticking out of it’s eye, and opens to review the blu-ray when you lift up on the screwdriver lol. Who wouldn’t want a random zombie head sitting around their living room. I just felt it was worth mentioning.

I have been reading up looking for a Blu-Ray player that could play MKV (Matroska) files for some time now. Most reviews say its hard to find one that plays them…but really it seems its simply hard to find one that “prints” the fact that it will play them in the specs. I have this Toshiba (cheap…usually $60-$100) only because for the price it was a steal and I needed an extra blu-ray player in the house. I didn’t find out until now that it played MKVs (randomly tried to see what would happen if I stuck a disc in). HD quality…yep, digital sound…yep! Two thumbs up from me!
So all of your MKV formatted anime and whatever else…..here’s your solution to bring it to your TVs and home theaters without having to hook a PC up to them!!
